What is Precision Agriculture?

Precision agriculture is a modern, data-driven approach to farming that combines technology, real-time monitoring and informed decision-making. It uses soil and climate sensors to monitor moisture, temperature and nutrient levels in real time, while satellite imagery and drones are used to map variability across fields and greenhouses.

Based on this data, we design and implement targeted irrigation and fertilization programs. Our goal is to provide each plant with exactly what it needs, precisely when it needs it. This helps us maintain product quality and consistency across batches.

By optimizing the use of agricultural inputs, we reduce unnecessary resource consumption and minimize our environmental footprint. At the same time, harvesting is planned based on ripening indicators that are regularly monitored throughout the growing season.

Crop-related decisions are supported by specialized software that combines sensor data, historical records and weather forecasts, enabling us to make more accurate and timely decisions.

In this way, precision agriculture provides our growers with a comprehensive range of powerful and practical tools, helping us achieve more predictable production, higher product quality and sustainable growth.

Our Certifications

We implement the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standard, together with the GRASP and SPRING add-ons, across all our production activities.

At the same time, we are working towards BRCGS Food Safety certification and a Sedex SMETA 4-Pillar audit, targeted for completion by November 2026.

Our records and data are managed through the Agro Advanced system and can be shared electronically with our customers. Every finished batch is fully traceable to the grower, the field of origin, the crop protection program, and the corresponding analytical data.

Every application of a crop protection product is assessed using the Cornell EIQ (Environmental Impact Quotient) index.

GIS and Satellite Field Monitoring

Our GIS platform is connected to Sentinel-2 satellite layers for daily field monitoring, plant health assessment and pest/disease forecasting. It also links with European databases supporting environmental monitoring and biodiversity assessment.

Precision Agriculture Supports Low-Residue Production

Our irrigation and nutrition programme is based on in-house Plant SAP and Soil SAP analyses using specialized reflectometers and ion meters. Irrigation decisions are supported by weather stations and the FAO ETo approach.

Results are evaluated automatically by the Agro Advanced AI module, helping us reduce excess nitrogen and manage nutrient antagonism, especially sodium.

This supports healthier crops and enables control of potato late blight and strawberry powdery mildew with fewer applications.

Precision Agriculture – Our Meteorological Data

Our private weather stations record temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, rainfall, leaf wetness and soil temperature. These data support disease forecasting models for strawberry powdery mildew (Kast/OiDiag model).

The system helps us reduce unnecessary pesticide applications and lower residue risk. Data processing is supported by the Adcon telemetry platform.

Crop Protection Strategy

We maintain our own licence for the supply and use of plant protection products and propagating material for our own production needs.

This gives us direct control over product selection, application timing, resistance management and residue strategy.

Our crop protection decisions are based on prevention, field monitoring, disease forecasting and microscopic diagnosis where required, rather than routine corrective applications.

This independence strengthens supply security and supports a competitive production cost structure.

Microscopic Observation

Field observations are verified, where necessary, by microscopic examination, preventing misdiagnosis and unnecessary crop protection applications.
